LAKEWOOD — Rallying in the final inning of play Wednesday night, the lady Lakewood Leopards came back from an 8-1 deficit, taking a chunk out of a seven run Hobbton lead in Super Six softball play.

Despite the rally, the lady Leopards fell to Hobbton 8-4.

Winding up the second inning, Hobbton took a two-run lead. Defensive errors on the side of Lakewood proved to be hurdles throughout the game for the team.

“We are still making too many mistakes,” said Lakewood coach Dave Yarasheski after the game.

“Overall I have to give Hobbton credit. They came up with the hits and scored when they had girls in position.”

The loss seemed hard for Yarasheski when commenting, but the coach still offered good things to say about his team. “I’m proud that the girls hung in there and came back (at the end).”
