MOLTONVILLE — Charges are pending against a woman who led Warsaw Police officers on a chase late Tuesday night that began at the rest stop on I-40 about 11:45 p.m.

According to Warsaw Police Capt. J.T. Wood, his office got involved when the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the department to check on a possible drunk driver. Warsaw Police officers L.R. Ward and C.C. Johnson responded to the call.

“Upon arrival, they noticed the woman’s vehicle moving — she was driving the wrong way around the rest stop,” Wood said.

Ward and Johnson initiated a stop and talked to the woman. While one went back to the car and the other was checking her license and registration, the woman took off down Old Warsaw Road towards Moltonville at a high rate of speed.

From start to finish, the chase lasted for all of six minutes, at times reaching speeds up to 105 mph. Reports note that the woman also ran a stop sign at Cabin Museum Road during the chase.

Warsaw Police Capt. L.L. Holland, who was at the scene, said that the woman “appeared” to be intoxicated.

“She hit a soft patch and skidded a little because she hit the brakes,” he said. “She was trying to make a turn, but then hit the brakes — she did not wreck the vehicle.”

The N.C. Highway Patrol was called because of the possible driving while intoxicated charge, Wood said. “We were just assisting,” he added,

Both captains report that after the vehicle came to a stop, the woman was taken to Duplin General Hospital after the incident, with charges expected within the next few days.

“There is the possible DWI, an open container, fleeing and a host of other charges expected,” said Wood.

The woman’s name will not be released until after the charges are leveled against her.

She sorta looks like a female that drove to my house under the influence to interview for the position of my NEXT EX-WIFE! I told her I wasn't hiring!

Who? Your sister or your mother? I'm confused about how you would know from a picture of a fat woman sitting on the grass...

Like I said, it was a rumor. I wanted to clear it with you. Do you have any idea who it might be? Any of the Fox Pond or Coharie Lots crowd? She's dress purdy nice to be some trailer queen.

« baldbeaverbanger . I am quite the voluptuous female; however, have never been "drunk on my ass" with a picture in the SI. No, sweetie, the female in the paper is NOT me. You should have known if the nails were not bright red then it wasn't me.HAHAHAHAHAhaaaa

Back to the story...

I can't figure out why someone would drive drunk or under the influence of something knowing your butt could kill somebody. I just don't understand it.

Yes, JAFS, it is I. My name was turned over to the gamewarden by an unnamed party on Bass Lake RD for trapping without a license. Do you have a beaver needing trapping? I have a license now.

So is the "rebel with a cause" still having her cook out or was she just blowing smoke?

I earned my ID the honest way, my great grand daddy was booted out of Elizabeth for going to service drunk.

Baldbeaverbanger I was curious if you were the guy that made the comments about the beaver trapping article. Were you the one arrested for trapping beavers or were you captured and released?

I think I might call ICU and find out if sampsonmom's friend is still on the critical list. Some nurses do have compassion.

Ggirl what time is the cookout tomorrow?

I did hear a rumor the lady pictured on the ground is Mscumbco. Is there any truth to that? I never figured her for a drunk....

JAFS,

It's obvious you're more confused than anyone on here. Maybe, you should get a job. Now, to more important matters.

Dukeblue,

I do find it interesting Aman's picture is up and we are still waiting for the mystery woman sitting on the ground to be identified, since Tuesday?

28398,

Your compassion for the driving drunk lady is epic, however, it's falling on deaf ears. Mine. My guess we shall never know what became of the drunk lady sitting on the side of the road. She sits there humilated and dishoveled. This story will eventually fade into internet obscurity. As for her being in the ICU, I'll keep my opions to myself. We do have an abuse policy now.

elizabethBCreject ....you could make application at either the FBC at 600 College Street or FBC at 900 College Street. The FBC at 900 College Street does seem to "REACH OUT" more. Thats just a thought. I'll leave that decision up to you.

I never heard of a church "rejecting" anyone; however, there are some churches that don't make you feel very welcome....but thats another subject for a later date.

LOL I don't blame you 28398. Anyone rejected from Elizabeth Baptist Church I have to wonder about because they welcome all sinners.

Why don't you two exchange email addresses and phone numbers so you can shower each other with kindness without the rest of us having to endure the PDAs in the comment section of the SI..."

Dear "JAFS",

Thank you for your kind suggestion. After careful consideration, I respectfully decline your offer. However, your desire to be helpful was very thoughtful and much appreciated.

Take care.
