Dear Editor,

East Clinton Restoration Fellowship Mobile Ministry would like to thank you for your support and generosity, as well as that of columnist Mae Bell Williamson.

We would like to also give special gratitude to the following local agencies: City of Clinton, Smart Start, More at Four, EMS and Friendly Trio (Mr. Charles Strickland). We must not forget that our county commissioner, Mr. Malicah Faison, and our state representative, Larry M. Bell, made time to be with us on such a joyous occasion. All of you made up the community and those who attended from the community were needed to unite the community.

May God bless each and every one of you. We hope for your continued support and participation in upcoming events. Again thank you.

Sincerely yours,

Minister Denise Hargrove

‘Pot bust’ just makes

value of weed more

Editor:

I’m writing about: “$27 million in ‘pot’ plants seized, campsite uncovered, which was published in your newspaper on June 25, 2009

I’m sure that many marijuana growers and sellers are thankful to the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department, the SBI, the DEA, the National Guard and Clinton Police Department for this latest pot bust.

Without operations like this, marijuana would be worth what other easy-to-grow weeds are worth — very little.

Thanks to the Drug Enforcement Administration and other so-called “drug warriors,” the easy-to-grow weed is worth almost as much as pure gold— and completely tax free.

Any marijuana growers, sellers or traffickers arrested will soon be replaced.

They always are.

Best regards,

Kirk Muse
