A Clinton man was transported to WakeMed’s Intensive Care unit in Raleigh after an unknown incident left him lying, injured, on the side of Powers Street in Clinton Wednesday morning.

According to reports, Clinton Police officers responded to a call of an “unknown situation,” and, when officers arrived on the scene, they found 45-year-old Stacy Holland lying on the ground suffering from a head injury. In the report, officers noted that Holland was “bleeding profusely” from a head injury and they found a “significant amount of dried blood plasma” on the victim.

Officers talked with Holland’s brother, Eugene, who tried to provide a timeline of his brother’s whereabouts. He told police Holland left home at 4 a.m. Wednesday morning and, although he tried looking for him, he was unable to locate him.

Stacy Holland was found on the road wearing faded jeans, no shirt, white socks and one tennis shoe.

Police also noted that when they approached Holland for information on what had happened to him, he was “incoherent and unaware of his surroundings.”

“He could not articulate what had happened to him,” the officer stated in the report.

The report also notes that the officers searched the area to see if they could find any evidence to support that Holland was the victim of a hit-and-run — they could not find any physical evidence to support that theory.

Investigators went back to talk with Holland at Sampson Regional at 9:44 a.m. but the victim was still unable to give any detailed information.

When they returned at 10:34 a.m., they were told by hospital staff members that Holland’s CAT scan showed he had “blood on the brain” and he was transported to WakeMed.

Holland was listed in “serious” condition at the hospital, according to a spokesperso there..

If you have any information on this incident, please call the Clinton Police Department at 592-3105.

You're kidding, right? The same guy hit by the girl in the Toyota? If there was ever a person more deserving of a Darwin Award, it was that guy.

If this the same guy and he was struck again by a vehicle because he walked into oncoming traffic, I will be wearing Depends for a week from laughing so hard. Please, dear Lord, let this be the same guy under the same circumstances.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of this plays out. Very weird and very suspicious.
