A Clinton man who was found lying injured on the side of Powers Street earlier this week and subsequently sent to WakeMed Hospitals in Raleigh had suffered a similar incident on Dec. 3 of last year.

The man, 45-year-old Stacy Holland, was found lying on the ground Wednesday, suffering from a head injury. In the Clinton Police report, officers noted that Holland was “bleeding profusely” from a head injury and they found a “significant amount of dried blood plasma” on the victim.

Although investigators were able to talk with Holland and his brother, Eugene, police noted that when they approached Holland for information on what had happened to him, he was “incoherent and unaware of his surroundings.”

“He could not articulate what had happened to him,” the officer stated in the report.

On Dec. 3, Holland sustained head and leg injuries after being struck by oncoming traffic on Sunset Avenue and was initially listed in serious condition after being airlifted to Chapel Hill. At the time, family members told investigating officers that Holland was on life support and was brain dead. Hospital officials are prohibited by law in offering anything more than a condition report, which is only given if provided the patient’s name. The reports were never confirmed

Police said the collision occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on Dec. 3 as Holland attempted to cross traffic on Sunset Avenue, from the BB&T bank to the Sunoco convenience store. Holland “failed to yield to traffic and darted across the roadway” when a 2005 Toyota passenger car struck him in the legs, reports state.

After Wednesday’s accident, which has not yet been determined and is still being investigated, Holland was taken to WakeMed after a CAT scan at Sampson Regional reportedly showed he had “blood on the brain”.

Holland was listed in “serious” condition at the hospital, according to a WakeMed spokesperson.

If you have any information on this incident, please call the Clinton Police Department at 592-3105.

lilma, same goes for you. Back away from the computer and sign up for an adult reading class at SCC. If not, there is a good reading program called "Reading without Tears". You have no business posting on here or anywhere else. It's like watching a chimp on crack trying to relay a complete thought.

One. It was a typo and you're correct it's stacy.

Two. Don't call me "baby". I don't know you and if I called you baby, you would probably get get your panties in a wad due to your feminist view.

Three. He may be a human genetically, but mentally he's a possum on crack. He needs some sort of treatment for his problem.

i do not know stacy (Baby)that well, but our main concern is that maybe he needs our prayers. you are correct about one thing, the next time might be the last time as it also could be us, so please lets keep stacy in our prayers and hope that his life will be changed for the good, after all, he is a human being and one of God's children as we are.

Eugene, you might want to install an invisible fence around the yard and put a collar on Satcy's neck to keep him from wandering off. There is only so many times he's going to be hit by a car and survive. His luck is going to run out.

Such a moron. None of us ever get a second chance like you do, stacy. Next time you get the urge to run across the road like one of my brothers, fight it. Having a grill imprint on your ass is not a fashion statement.

The Ballad of Stacy Holland

Stacy Holland is a good old man

Who tries to cross the street as fast as he can

Around the corner the car screeched through the nite

And Stacy was walking where there was no street light

He thought he would be home in bed soon

But the driver was mistaken, he wasn't a coon

When Stacy left the house two shoes were on

After he got hit, one shoe...POOF, be gone!

As Stacy laid in the wet, cold grass

There was a sharp pain emanating from his @$$

The police arrived so swift and true

And noticed Stacy was missing a shoe

In a state of confusion he knew not what to say

He didn't even know if it was night or day

They whisked him to the hospital with the utmost care

A paramedic exclaimed, "wasn't he just there?"

The doctor releases him and says isn't this nice

You're the only person to be ran over twice

Head injury, scratches and bruises on his arm

Who knows, the 3rd time may just be the charm

Now Stacy's brother keeps him locked up at home

To avoid paying for cars he hits when he roams

Children when you venture out at night

Please make sure you walk where there's street lights

Stacy Holland, you are an idiot. When are going to learn you are not a possum. You have no sympathy from me and you know what they say, "Three times the charm". I hope I'm the next driver you come across when you scamper through the streets.I'll make hood ornament out of you.
