A Roseboro man arrested on misdemeanor offenses following a routine traffic stop has now received a felony drug charge against him for reportedly being in possession of marijuana on jail premises.

Johnathan Edward Carr, 21, of 178 Old Brick Mill Road, Roseboro, has been charged with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and possession of a controlled substance in jail.

Carr was initially taken into custody following a traffic stop at the dead end on Boone Street, in the Roseboro area.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Carr was impaired and had no insurance or registration for the vehicle. He was arrested and transported to the Sampson County Detention Center. At some point during his impending incarceration, Carr was allegedly found in possession of drugs. Reports state that 15 grams of marijuana was seized.

With the drug charge, Carr was placed under $28,000 secured bond.
