All Stars 12U move to final round of playoffs

After a 12-0 shutout Friday night against Elkin and sweeping Coats Saturday 4-0, the Sampson County All Stars 12 and under team has advanced to the final round of the state playoffs.

According to Hilda Carr, the All Stars put Elkin to rest Friday night, scoring 12 runs, leaving them with none.

After defeating Elkins, the All Stars advanced to the second round of the SWAC state playoffs where they went head-to-head with Coats.

According to Carr, the All Stars were able to get ahead again, defeating Coats 4-0.

As for the finals, the All Stars are slated to play in the championship game Sunday, July 26, at 1 p.m.

Good job kids, good luck in the next round.

Note to coaches...it's never a classy move to take a picture in front of the scoreboard after a win. I coach high school and it was done to my team. I wasn't upset at the kids but the coaches should have known better.
