The woman’s name was not immediately released and others were reportedly airlifted from the scene of the wreck to be treated for their injuries, which troopers responded to shortly before 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The collision occured near Hickory Grove Road, Sgt. M.G. McLamb said late Saturday.
According to McLamb, the woman who was killed in the wreck was a passenger in a Ford Ranger pickup. McLamb said a slick roadway may have been a factor in the wreck, which is still being investigated by Trooper D.K. Pearson.
“One of the vehicles, the Ford Ranger, lost control and struck the other vehicle, a Honda Accord,” McLamb said.
It was unclear how many people in all were involved in the deadly collision.
“There’s some other serious injuries,” the patrol sergeant noted.
