Poor field conditions brought on by heavy rains has forced a split in tonight’s scheduled Football Jamboree, with some of the games still being played tonight, while others will be moved to Saturday night.
At 1:30 p.m. today, during the Robert Hill Jamboree Luncheon, officials announced a change in the Jamboree schedule due to inadequate field conditions at Hobbton High School, leaving a spilt schedule for Friday and Saturday night.
James Lewis, athletic director for Lakewood High School and president of the Sampson County Sports Club, announced after the luncheon that Midway High School and Lakewood will switch spots for the Jamboree tonight, Friday, Aug. 14.
Therefore, the schedule will continue tonight as follows: Clinton vs. Union and East Bladen vs. Midway, both at 7 p.m.; and Clinton vs. Midway and East Bladen vs. Union, both at 8 p.m.
Due to poor filed conditions at Hobbton High School, the second set of games were moved to Lakewood High School, and these games will be played Saturday, Aug. 15, starting at 6 p.m.
Therefore the schedule on Saturday, Aug. 15, will be as follows: Hobbton vs. North Duplin and Lakewood vs. Bunn, both at 6 p.m.; and Hobbton vs. Bunn and Lakewood vs. North Duplin, both at 7 p.m.
Officials requested that patrons be advised of the schedule change, and if they chose to attend either location please have the correct entry fee of $6 in order to assist the gatekeepers and speed admittance.
