Felton Pate, 89

GARLAND — Mr. Felton Pate, 89, of 3079 Bull St., died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Pate was an Army veteran of World War II.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, at Cypress Creek Baptist Church in Garland by the Rev. Richard Smith. Burial will follow in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Garland.

Mr. Pate is survived by one daughter, Connie Kaiser of Fayetteville; one son, Wayne Pate of Garland; one sister, Lettie Clement of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.

Edward Q. Cashwell, 75

GARLAND — Mr. Edward Q. Cashwell, 75, of 12185 Old Mintz Hwy., died Friday, August 14, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Cashwell was the son of the late Johnny and Sylvia Fields Cashwell and was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Cashwell and Ted Cashwell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, at Garland Baptist Church in Garland by the Rev. Martie Tew, the Rev. Trent Sessoms and Gene Hart. Burial will follow in the Garland Cemetery.

Mr. Cashwell is survived by his wife, Betty Carter Cashwell; three sons, Brad Faircloth of Clinton, Christopher Faircloth of Mt. Olive and Quince Cashwell of Garland; two sisters, Ann Cashwell and Lyndia Autry, both of Stedman; two brothers, Jerry Cashwell of Stedman and Joe Cashwell of Garland; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 15, from 7-9 p.m., at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.

CALYPSO— Mr. Wilbur E. Sutton, 85, of Calypso, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009. The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at Thunder Swamp Pentacostal Holiness Church, Mount Olive. Burial will be Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. DUNN— Mrs. Sandi M. McNeil, 45, of 186 Melissa Drive, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. Mrs. McNeil was the daughter of Mrs. Mary Matthews of Clinton. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at Cape Fear Conference A Headquarters with elder Garry L. Gainey officiating. A viewing will be held at Dafford Funeral Home in Dunn today, Aug. 16, from 1 to 7 p.m. Family visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m.
