Additional charges were handed down to a Clinton man earlier this week after investigators with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office reportedly linked him to yet another crime in the county.

On Tuesday, Erik Todd Dutter, 16, of 25 Junkyard Lane, Clinton received charges of conspiracy, second degree arson and breaking and entering stemming from a crime that took place back on June 25. Dutter was placed under a $10,000 bond with a trial date of Sept. 18.

Just last week, he was charged with two counts of breaking and entering; two counts of larceny after breaking and entering; and possession of stolen goods after investigators linked Dutter to the two previous breaking and entering crimes, both felonies.

According to reports, the suspect reportedly broke in the homes of two Clinton residents on separate occasions Saturday, Aug. 22, taking a set of binoculars and a Compaq computer, both valued at $620, and leaving over $2,000 in damage at one residence. In the other incident approximately $750 in items were taken.

Later that same night, Dutter was reportedly involved in a police chase that ended with him being charged with resisting public officer, no operator’s license and failing to stop for blue light. Bond was set at $700 and a court date was set for Sept. 10.

His bonds total $22,200.

Speaking as the mother of a 15 year old...these kids did not just wake up one day and decide to be a P.O.S!! They have been "thug-wanna-be's" in the making for years and years! It appears the parents have been to busy partying, being the kids "friend" and basically not giving a crap what their child is doing, cause the kid probably wasn't wanted in the first place!! Raising a responsible child is an EVERYDAY job...it's not the grandma's place to raise that kid...it's not your childs school teacher's job to raise and discipline your child...IT IS THE PARENTS JOB and therefore, the PARENTS FAULT. People need to take responsibility for their actions and the results of what they do! These kids think their is no consequence to what they do! Everyone is a "victim"...cry me a bloody river already!! I hope the police beat the snot of that little punk when they caught him...something his parents should have done from the time he could talk back!!

It will take ONLY ONE time for one of these little bastards to break into the wrong home with the owner still there. I'm sure a burglary suspect at room temperature will be a powerful wake up call. Home owners, it might be a good idea to refresh your knowledge about the law and the use of deadly while your home is broken into.

What is happening to our youth? Would you people stop sparing the rod...you're spoiling the child. Underage drinking, burglary, baby daddys and mamas, license restrictions...the list just goes on and on. Justin, Erik, Patrick, Alex, Crystal....where does it stop?
