Psalm 68: 1-2 says, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered, let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.” To every born again believer, God is going to get rid of some of your enemies.
I know that it looks like they have trapped you in, but stand still and watch the Lord at work. David, as you can tell, had some enemies, and needed God to step in asap. He knew he could not fight them alone, so he asked for help. Have you lately been trying to fight your enemies alone? The God in you wants to arise and help you through these trying times. Not your own way to escape to arise or your own opinion, but the God in you wants to come out.
So many sleepless nights worried about whether this or that will overtake me, or asking God where are you? God is within , and he will dwell with us and is wanting to flex his power to show our enemies who He is. Think about how he detoured the children of Israel and allowed them to go to the Red Sea. Now, as we would know the story, Pharaoh would think that he and his men would have them trapped. Out of no where, God arose and used his power to open up the sea. Pharaoh’s army would follow and would be swallowed up by the Sea as they chased God’s people.
God flexed his muscles with the children of Israel and destroyed their enemies then, and rest assured, he is going to do the same for you and me.
See God wants them to all be together, so he can destroy them once and for all. That’s why it seems like problem after problem keeps coming your way. It’s set up by God. So get ready to see a mighty move by God.
This is why you haven’t lost your mind or given up yet. Yes, I know and God knows you’ve felt like throwing in the towel, wanting to quit the walk with Jesus, but he’s been keeping you the whole time. He is going to get the glory out of your life by showing your enemies that he is in control of everything—that he is God almighty, the true and everlasting God that shows up and out when you mess with his people. So get ready to see your haters scattered and puffed away like smoke because God is about to rise up in and through you and I.
Prayer— Lord , we bless your name for fighting this battle. God, thank you for protecting us from our enemies. In Christ’s name, Amen.
