According to Hobbton’s head coach Russell Jones, the JV Wildcats pulled out a 2-1 win over the Leopards with the scores 23-25, LHS; 25-18, HHS; and 27-25, HHS.
Lakewood’s head coach Sheila Davidson commented, “We were up by four points in the last set and the next three serve rotations we missed; both teams were in the 20s, which is basically how we lost — serving in crucial times.”
Davidson highlighted Allison Heinz for having six assists; Morgan Herring for six kills and four blocks; Zanna Faircloth with seven kills; and Bailey Dudley with five kills.
As for the varsity, both Davidson and Jones revealed that the Leopards took the match it 3-0 with the scores 25-10, 25-11 and 25-9.
Lakewood’s Corenia Murphy had 44 service points; Nikki Devincentis had 13 service points and five kills; Devony Hemmingway had 17 kills and six blocks; Amber Blair had 17 assists; Saraha Young had nine digs; and Jasmine Culbreth had six kills.
This brings the Leopards record to 9-1.
