Investigators with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a missing teen who reportedly walked away from a “therapeutic home” in the Harrells community Sunday evening.

Thirteen-year-old Joshua Adam Miller hasn’t been seen since Sunday night when he left the home, located at 3784 Wildcat Road, Harrells, around 10:30 p.m.

According to reports, Joshua had walked away from the facility twice earlier in the day, however he returned each time. The last time he left, reports indicate he traveled toward Harrells on Wildcat Road, and did not return.

A search was conducted of the area without success. Joshua has been diagnosed with several medical conditions requiring medication. Without his medication, Joshua becomes suicidal, officials said.

Investigators have been checking with known associates and family members in Duplin County, where Miller originally lived.

Joshua is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with blue eyes and light brown hair. Joshua was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, army green shorts and flip-flops.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-592-4141 or your local law enforcement agency.
