Roseboro man faces multiple assault charges after weekend incident

A Roseboro man who assaulted three people, jumped into his car and then ran into two more vehicles, was arrested Saturday after deputies apprehended the man, believed to be under the influence of an impairing substance.

Mitchell Clayton Parker, 32, of 1225 Microwave Tower Road, Roseboro, was charged with four counts of simple assault; one count of breaking and entering; three counts of injury to personal property and two counts assault on a female after entering a home in Roseboro, assaulting two women and a man and then running out the back door.

According to officials with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, Parker entered the back door of the home of an “acquaintance” and allegedly hit the two females in the head, causing one to receive stitches.He also is alleged to have struck the male before running out the back door.

Parker then allegedly jumped into his vehicle backed into a car and then hit a truck before driving directly into the back yard of a nearby residence, tearing up a fence and grass in the process.

Neighbors came out to stop Parker and subsequently fought with him before deputies arrived on the scene.

Parker was taken to Sampson Regional Medical Center and then taken to the Sampson County Detention Center where he was charged and given a $15,000 bond.
