In the first quarter, Roseboro-Salemburg took over with 6 minutes on the clock, however, they were not able to drive one in until 6 seconds had elapsed in the second quarter.
The touchdown came off a 5-yard run by Cody Baker; the two-point conversion failed to bring the Leopards up 6-0.
Although Roseboro-Salemburg would be the first to get on the board Wednesday, the Leopards would spend the rest of the game playing catch up to the Raiders.
Midway would first get on the board with 54 seconds left in the first half after a 20-yard run by Lane Daniels. The two-point conversion by Allantis Warren would put the Raiders up 8-6.
Although Roseboro-Salemburg had 45 seconds to jump ahead, the half would end 8-6, and in Midway’s favor.
With 2:44 left in the third quarter, Midway quarterback Taylor Calcutt would complete a pass to Raheem Thomas, who would run it in roughly 20 yards for the score. The two-point conversion attempt failed, leaving the score 14-6, still Midway’s ball game.
Roseboro-Salemburg would drive the ball down the field with two minutes to play in the third, and as the game entered its final 8 minutes of play, the Leopards would put one into the end zone with 5:50 on the clock.
The play was a 20-yard run by Baker. And with an unsuccessful two-point conversion, the Leopards remained down by two.
With 4:49 left in the fourth, Midway’s Warren would drive another one in off roughly a 40-yard run, and with a failed two- point conversion attempt. The score remained 20-12, Midway.
The game looked as though it would be Midway’s to take, until there were only 29 ticks left on the clock. At this point, a completed pass from Leopard quarterback J.J. Tanner to Joshua Hall moved Roseboro-Salemburg to the 5-yard line.
With 15 seconds left to play, a pass from Tanner to Patrick Rich and an added two points by Baker tied the game up 20-20, sending it into overtime.
Midway would attempt their four plays first, but would fall short of the goal line.
Roseboro-Salemburg, on the other hand, was able to drive the ball in on their third play to take the overtime win 26-20.
