Despite damp conditions around the county Friday, the Midway Raiders were able to rope in a 21-14 win over Trask.
According to reports from the coaching staff, the first quarter would remain a scoreless one for both the Raiders and Titans.
The first score of the ball game would come off Trask with 19 ticks remaining in the half. The play would come off a 16-yard run from Dominuque Lesine.
With the score 6-0 in Trask’s favor, the Raiders entered into the third quarter with a win on their minds, putting all of their points on the board during this quarter.
The first touchdown would come off a 50-yard reception from Ryan Mayes to James Davis. Chad Allen would add the point after to make it 7-6, Midway’s game.
With 2:53 to go in the third, Mayes would drive one in at 1-yard and Allen would add the kick to make it 14-6.
The Raiders would go up 21-6 with 57 left in the third after Joseph Royal ran in 23 yards. Allen was successful with the kick.
Although Trask would add another eight in the fourth off a 10-yard run by Lesine and a two-point conversion by Terry Lewis; Midway took the game 21-14.
As for leading players, Royal had 17 carries for 81 yards; Davis had five receptions for 114 yards; Mayes had 11 attempts, seven completions, one touchdown and one interception; and Chris Smith led with 12 tackles.
