The highly anticipated tournament, which began in 2003, is held each year to generate support and good will for Sampson Community College and the students it serves, SCC Foundation executive director Ann Glover said.
The Classic is led by “outstanding leaders” of the community who serve on the SCC Foundation Board of Directors, without pay, to help ensure that support for area students and other college needs are achieved, she added.
Golf committee members were on their mark at 7:30 a.m. recently, finalizing plans for a great, fun event, generating funds for a worthy cause — education, Glover said.
