Due to impending rain forecasts for eastern North Carolina for the remainder of the week, the Sampson Classic William M. “Bill” Johnson Jr. Invitational Golf Tournament has been rescheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19, school officials announced Tuesday.

According to Ann Glover, SCC Foundation director, rain delays, as well as tough economic times, appears to have put a damper on all golf tournaments this year, however, the director insisted SCC’s Invitational will generate an excellent turnout come next week.

Reservations are solid for the follow week’s event, said Glover, adding her hopes to see the players getting in some play time.

There are 25 teams currently signed up for the tournament. There will be no refunds given if a team cannot play Nov. 19.

As always, Glover said, the college thanks the golfers for their continued support.
