A Clinton woman was arrested for allegedly setting her Roseboro home on fire to collect insurance money.

Pamela Ehrenfeld, 44, of 1127 Reedsford Road, Clinton, was arrested Monday morning and charged with fraudulently burning a dwelling and insurance fraud.

According to reports from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, a suspicious fire at 407 Payne St., Roseboro, was reported to the Sheriff’s Office by Sampson County Emergency Management on Oct. 1. At that time, Assistant Fire Marshall Jerry Cashwell initially responded to the house fire and determined that it appeared to be “intentionally” set. County investigators responded and initiated a criminal investigation, which led to the arrest of the owner/resident.

Ehrenfeld was arrested Monday and taken to the Sampson County Detention Center where she was placed under a $50,000 unsecured bond by Magistrate A. Jackson.

She is expected to make an appearance in court Dec. 11.

I am making a comment on the woman who was aressted in clinton nc. I know she is not guilty of setting her house on fire she is not that kind of person she is a hard worker if anything she always work for what she has bought she loves her two kids and if anything i believe that they should look at the other people who stayed in the house with her and why they left in such a hurry not to talk to the police or fired deparment she is not guilty and it should stay that way
