“We played really good defense tonight,” said head coach Will Hurley. “I think we have the potential to be a strong team.
According to Hurley, in order to turn a potential into a definite, the junior varsity Raiders will need to get their offense tuned.
“We just got to get our offense clicking; they just aren’t in sync” Hurley followed.
As for the game Tuesday, the Raiders took an 8-4 lead after the first quarter.
During the second 8 minutes on the court, the Raiders doubled their baskets and added 16 points to boost their score to 24. Princeton was only able to knock in six points, giving them a total of 10 points. The half-time score was then, 24-10.
In the second half of play, the Raiders continued to dominate offensively, raking up 10 more points compared to Princeton’s mere three in the third quarter.
Although Princeton would rally in the final quarter, putting up 20 shots, the Raiders would take the game 52-33.
Leading players were Naquan Smith with 13 points; Charles Bryant with 11; Austin Warren with 11; and Ryan McLamb with 10.
