The culmination of that investigation was Tuesday night when Patrick Michael O’Hara was taken into custody by Sampson County Sheriff’s investigators.
O’Hara, 36, of 51 R. Hall Lane, Autryville, was charged with a first degree sex offense of a child; sex offense 13,14,15; and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor.
According to investigators, a parent reported that their juvenile daughter had been sexually assaulted on Nov. 21 at O’Hara’s Autryville residence during a time when a mother and child were at the home. The next day, Nov. 22, the child’s mother reported the incident to law enforcement.
As the investigation began, officials discovered that a similar incident, with another minor, reportedly took place at the residence two years prior, and at the same location.
Investigators tracked down the previous victim who confirmed the incident had taken place.
O’Hara was arrested Tuesday night at 6 p.m. and given a $200,000 secured bond by Magistrate C. Hollingsworth. His first court date has been set for Dec. 11.
