According to late reports from head coach Angelo Surles, the Wildcats trounced the Rebels Thursday 46-35.
“Gabriel Barksdale had a very good game Thursday; he had a complete game all around,” said Surles. “I am very pleased with his efforts along with all the other guys.”
The efforts put forth from Barksdale and his teammates gave Hobbton the upper hand at the end of the first and into the half. The score was 20-17 at the break.
After the half, the Wildcats would take the court and the win after putting up a total of 26 points in the second half. North Duplin would only bucket a total of 18 for a final score of 46-35.
Leading players for Hobbton were Hunter Rose with 17 points; Giovante Devone with seven; Barksdale with seven points, six assists, five steals and no turnovers, Arell Owens with five points; Brandon Parker with four; Robert Drake with four; and Jonathan Faison with two.
The Wildcats are slated to play three games this upcoming week, starting with Clinton on Tuesday in Dark Horse territory.
