An employee at the Bonnetsville Kwik Stop was taken into custody charged with a laundry list of offenses after she was nabbed for reportedly using a credit card that was accidentally left at the store by a customer.

Amanda Lynn Thornton, 39, of 3960 Roseboro Hwy., Clinton, was charged late Friday with financial card theft; two counts of financial credit fraud; and larceny by employee.

According to reports from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, Thornton, a clerk at the Bonnetsville Kwik Stop, located at 3900 Roseboro Highway, took a credit card left behind by a customer and used it twice at the store.

When the victim realized they had forgot the card and called the store, owners reviewed surveillance video and discovered that the suspect had the card and scanned it twice for a total of $60.

Law enforcement officers were called and Thornton was taken to the Sampson County Magistrate’s office where she was placed under a $7,500 unsecured bond by Magistrate A. Jackson and released.
