A teenager who was shot and severely injured in an apparent home invasion early Saturday morning was discharged from Sampson Regional Medical Center Monday, as Sampson County Sheriff’s investigators continue to search for the person who put him there.

The shooting is still under investigation and no arrests have yet been made in the incident, reported minutes after 6 a.m. Saturday, according to reports from Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities. Investigators said the door at 7101 Old Mintz Highway, Garland, was forced open and items taken from the home.

During the invasion, a 15-year-old, of Trinity Church Road, Magnolia, was shot. Chris Geralodeo Johnson, 27, of the Garland residence, was also listed as a victim in the incident, however it is unclear if he suffered any injuries.

The teen was transported to Sampson Regional Medical Center to be treated following the shooting. Ann Butler, SRMC’s vice president for marketing and community relations, confirmed Monday that the 15-year-old was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, Dec. 26. He was released early Monday, she said. Johnson was not treated at Sampson Regional.

According to reports, in addition to the teenager sustaining a gunshot wound, items were stolen from the Old Mintz Highway residence. The items included a PlayStation 3 with wireless controllers, valued at $300; two TVs, a 52-inch flat-screen, valued at $1,500, and a 47-inch TV, valued at $600; and two yellow nail guns, valued at $50.

The incident is being investigated further. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-592-4141.
