Arrests

• Dec. 23 — Richard Wayne Buck, 32, of 729 Raleigh St., Newton Grove, was charged with possession of stolen goods. Bond was set at $500; court date is Jan. 8.

• Dec. 29 — John Spell, 31, of 2935 Basslake Road, Clinton, was charged with simple assault. Bond was set at $500; court date is Feb. 17.

• Dec. 29 — Marcus Williams, 25, of 80 Laurelwood Lane, Salemburg, was charged with simple assault. Bond was set at $500; court date is Jan. 13.

• Dec. 29 — Allen Williams, 26, of 1526 Basslake Road, Roseboro, was charged with simple assault. Bond was set at $500; court date is Feb. 18.

• Dec. 29 — Joseph Javarah Melvin, 22, of 385 Keith Road, Roseboro, was charged with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and speeding. No bond was set; court date is Feb. 8.

Incidents/investigations

• Dec. 29 — Larry Matthews reported chickens and roosters released from pens at his farm in Turkey. Three roosters, valued at $900, and one hen, valued at $200, were stolen.

• Dec. 29 — Michael Williams of Roseboro reported numerous items taken from an area residence, including the shower, toilet, water heater, kitchen cabinets and a radiator. The total value of the items was not known.

• Dec. 29 — Charles Strickland of Roseboro reported a residential break-in, with damage to the front door and several stolen items. The door damage was estimated at $500. There was $6000 in cash taken, along with shot bottles, cigarettes and prescription medication, valued at $235.

• Dec. 30 — Jesus Gasparra and Sara Martinez of Autryville reported a residential break-in, with a computer, 54-inch plasma television and cash taken. The total value of the stolen items was listed at $4,500.
