Although the Dark Horses were ready for the action offensively, Spell admitted that defensively Clinton struggled a bit.
However, the victory over Northside was, he said, a big win, giving Clinton’s varsity team their first East Central Conference win. Their record now stands 1-2.
With Terry Farrior carrying the team with 19 points Monday, the Dark Horses would outscore the Monarchs in all four quarters.
After taking a 20-15 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Dark Horses would continue to dominate offensively, adding another 16 by the half.
Northside would trail Clinton going into the locker room.
Following the half, the Monarchs appeared to rally but Clinton’s dominance kept the Horses ahead on the board.
Beyond Farrior’s 19 points; J.T. Miller had 16 points; Vic Register and Dominic Quarterman both had 17 points; Jaylon Robertson had 6 points; Quentin Hill had 5 points; and Cornelius Lamb had 2 points.
