After Coastal Christian snuck by the JV Crusaders in the final quarter of play Friday, the local team would fall 42-37.
With a one-point lag at the end of the first quarter, Harrells would rally in the second quarter, putting up an extra 13 points. The boost would put them over Coastal 18-10 at the half.
With their foe only adding an extra four points in the second quarter, the Crusaders appeared to have the game under wraps after staying ahead 28-23 by the end of the third quarter.
However, Coastal would rally in the fourth, closing it to a two-point game and pulling ahead by one point with 3 minutes still to shed from the clock.
Leading scorer Matt Maready, who contributed 22 points Friday, would bring the game back to 35-all with just over 2 minutes to play.
Ninety seconds later, Coastal would pull back up 37-35; however, a foul to Crusader Aaron Batts sent him to the line, where he sank both attempts for another tied ball game with just ticks remaining.
Soon after, Coastal would add another basket and be sent to the line, twice. They would make three out of the four attempts for the victory.
Leaders, beyond Maready, were Blake Sandlin with 20 points; Batts with 9 points; and Kyle Miller with 4 points.
