Daniel Keith Lambert, 18, of 3960 Roseboro Highway, Clinton, was taken into custody around 7 p.m. Thursday and charged with three counts of breaking and entering; three counts of larceny after breaking and entering; and three counts of possession of stolen goods.
According to reports from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, the charges stem from a breaking and entering into a utility/storage shed at a single-family dwelling in the 200 block of Barts Lane in Clinton, reported on Dec. 1 around 4:30 p.m.
Reported stolen were two Troy Built pressure washers valued at $600; a Browning hunting bow valued at $100; a $50 hedge trimmer; a Poulan chainsaw valued at $100; and a Husquvina chainsaw valued at $200.
The report states that the back door to the shed was “kicked in” making an entry way for the suspect.
After a lengthy investigation, Lambert was the sole suspect in the crime. Warrants were taken out for his arrest on Dec. 23 and on Thursday, Lambert was served. The Clinton man was placed under a $30,000 secured bond by Magistrate J.B. Dixon.
According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections, Lambert was convicted of two felonies — common law robbery on July 11, 2008; and larceny over $1,000 on July 2, 2008. He was given a year for the felonies, and was released on June 13, 2009.
