Michael Zimmerman, 24, of 716 North Pine St., Roseboro, was arrested Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., taken to the Sampson County Magistrate’s office and charged with first degree burglary; larceny after breaking and entering; possession of stolen goods; assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury; first degree kidnapping; and felony conspiracy. Zimmerman also faces two failure to appear charges.
Magistrate K. Ellis placed Zimmerman under a $751,500 bond. His court date was set for Jan. 22.
On Wednesday, Dec. 30, three others were charged in connection with the crime.
On that day, Lamar Hanif Walker, 24, of 606 N. Pine St., Roseboro; Christopher Javon Parker, 24, of 606 S. East St., Roseboro; and Buddha Victoria, 31, of 2359 Old Mintz Hwy., Roseboro; were each charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and felony conspiracy. The men were all placed under $750,000 bonds.
According to law enforcement officers, the home invasion was reported just after 6 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at 7101 Old Mintz Hwy., Garland. Investigators said the front door was forced open and items, valued at nearly $2,500, were taken from the home.
During the incident, a 15-year-old Magnolia resident was shot. The juvenile was treated at Sampson Regional Medical Center and discharged two days later.
Victoria was the first to be taken into custody, at the Law Enforcement Center on Fontana Street. Walker was arrested at a residence on the 6900 block of Old Mintz Highway and Parker was taken into custody at the parking lot of Hardee’s in Roseboro.
According to reports, a .40-caliber Taurus semi-automatic pistol was seized in connection with Walker’s arrest. A 9mm handgun was seized from Buddha, reports state.
On Tuesday afternoon, Capt. Eric Pope could not confirm if more arrests were expected. “I will tell you that the incident is still being investigated,” he said.
