A Roseboro man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with an arson that took place on Dunn Road around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to reports from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, the blaze was reported by the man’s girlfriend.

Jason Colby Brown, 31, of 2876 Dunn Road, Roseboro, was charged with one count of second degree arson and placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under a $75,000 bond set by Magistrate J.B. Dixon.

Officials at the Sheriff’s Department stated that the Brown lived in and was part owner of the home. His girlfriend, who was not named, owned the other half of the property.
