Even though Clinton would take an 11-8 lead over the Panthers by the end of the first quarter, East Duplin would rally to capture the halftime lead at 24-18.
Following the break, the lady Dark Horses would hold the Panthers to a 20-point jump, while they would rise another 28 points, recapturing the lead and securing their win by two points.
Leaders for Clinton were Bianca Owens with 19 points; Lexus Simpson with 11 points; Ashley Partida with 5 points; Cynthia McLellon with 7 points; and Tamara Murphy with 4 points.
JV boys fall
The junior varsity Dark Horses boys’ team would fall to East Duplin Friday 58-33. No further information was reported beyond the score.
