“I think we played pretty good defensively tonight,” said head coach Lofton Kerr of the Leopards victory. “We can always get better though.”
After an evenly played first quarter, both the Leopards and the Bulldogs would enter into the second quarter knotted 10-all.
Fighting like cats and dogs, the Leopards would sprint ahead by an extra 15 points before the buzzer, while holding Wallace-RH at a scant three-point rise. Lakewood would lead the half 25-13.
“Wallace was a scrappy team, and I expected that. We finally got going in the second half and pulled it out. I was proud for the win and really pleased with what my girls did,” Kerr finished.
As for their second half action, Lakewood would put an extra 28 points on the board while the ‘Dogs would be sent packing with an 11 point rise.
Leaders for Lakewood Thursday were Nikki DeVincentis with 9 points; Devony Hemingway with 15 points; Brittany Boykin with 9 points; Tasha Rich with 5 points; Bianca Moore with 5 points; Niesha Rich with 5 points; Aquetta Robinson with 4 points; and Teisha Rich with points.
Please note that the game played with Wallace-RH Thursday was originally their Friday night action. Due to weather, the event was moved up a day; therefore, the Leopards will not play tonight.
