“We shot the ball well, shot about 55 percent from the board and 68 percent from the foul line,” Hobbton’s head coach Kenny Bass said of the Wildcat win. “Unfortunately we still turned it over too many times,” 33 in all.
According to reports from Bass, the Wildcats would climb to a 31-30 halftime lead and would push this to the 18 point win with the assistance of two reserves.
“We had two kids that came off the bench, Kevin Oates, who gave us 5 points and 5 assists, and Xavier Thompson, who had 11 points, 6 rebound, 2 assists and 2 steals,” Bass highlighted. Without their play in the fourth quarter, we would not have won this ball game.”
Additional leaders were Joe Schoonmaker with 19 points; Terence Robinson recorded double-doubles with 12 pints and 12 rebounds; Henry Barnes with 7 points; Mallard Newkirk with 6 points; Dusty McLamb with 2 points and Malcolm Swinson with 2 points.
Top Leopards were Josh Williams with 11 points, Domonic James with 9 points; Deshawn Newkirk with 8 points; Dennis Owens with 7 points; Tony Smith with 7 points; and Kenny Davis and Lofton Kerr, both with 2 points.
