Recording 11 points Friday, Clinton’s Mildred Fisher would assist the lady Dark Horses in bucking their way to a 35-25 win over conference foe Richlands.

“It was a big win for us on the road,” commented Clinton’s head coach Chris Owens. “Our girls played with all their effort.”

According to Owens’ report, the Dark Horses collected the rebounds and boxed out, two components they have been perfecting all season.

With the ladies able to secure the rebounds and convert them into easy buckets, the Dark Horses would gallop ahead to a 19-11 halftime lead.

Following the break, Clinton would hold Richlands in single digits for both the third and fourth quarter, allowing the Horses to sprint ahead to a 10-point victory.

“Again, our man-to-man gave them a lot of problems, causing turnovers which was a key for us to win the game. Our girls are getting better every game,” Owens concluded.

Leading the Dark Horses, in addition to Fisher, were Shanai McKoy with 10 points; Courtney Pearsall with 8 points; and Mariah Morrisey with 6 points.
