Garland Senior Center
Greeting everyone. Remember what I said to ya’ll about the winter time Thunder and the groundhog shadow. Well, look at all of the snowy weather. Seems there is some truth in our elder folk beliefs . Hope everyone enjoyed the snow. We are closed here at the center today, but we will be back open on Thursday. I just miss my folks.
Lots of things are going on at the center. Big concern now is all bout the 2010 Census. Stand be and be counted. We have people here with census questions who will help fill out the paper work. If you need assistance, call or come by the center. We also have a testing site here on Wednesday and Saturday morning. Please call the center for more information. The number is 529-3931.
On March 4, all at the Garland Center were honored for their volunteer work. We hope that we didn’t miss anyone.

Remedies from Woman’s World— Ditch your old shampoo bottles. They are breeding ground for mold.
Fill a spray bottle with vinegar, mist all bathroom surfaces. The acid stops mold and kills odors.
Remember to laugh a lot — share good things with others. Be nice to someone— everybody needs somebody. You might just be that special person.
Thanks to Helen Herring, Doris Hunt, James Robinson, and all my folks who let me know they enjoy my articles. I love to write and share, but sometimes time won’t permit. My goal is to one day write a journal or a small book about some of the wisdom and knowledge of the seniors around me. I love education, but I treasure natural knowledge.
Until next time, continue to live and learn under the shade tree.
