A 24-year-old Roseboro resident was arrested and charged with robbery after taking $40 from his mother late Sunday night.
Gregory Michael Ammons, 24, of 432 Corbin Road, Roseboro, was taken into custody on the robbery charge and placed under a $2,500 secured bond. His court date has been set for March 29.
According to reports from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, Ammons got into a dispute with his mother, 50-year-old Catherine Ammons, Sunday evening around 8 p.m. At some point in the dispute, Gregory allegedly took her wallet “forcibly” and removed $40 in cash from it.
Catherine Ammons called law enforcement officers and reported a robbery and assault moments after the incident. Sheriff’s officials said her son left the residence and then came back to return the money. The report was filed and Ammons was charged — no injuries were reported in the incident.
Ammons was in custody 40 minutes after the incident.
According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections, Ammons has no prior convictions.

Let's hope he's not a baby-daddy.
