Rebels defeat Hobbton

North Duplin’s baseball team cracked the bat Tuesday, earning the Rebels their second victory over Hobbton. The final score was 6-4.

During the first three innings, Hobbton flashed zeros across the board while North Duplin pushed ahead by 3 runs, reported Wildcats’ head coach Chad Brewer.

Hobbton finally earned a run during the fourth inning, but were still behind the Rebels by two.

During the sixth inning, the Rebels took the lead by five, but Hobbton’s three runs scored in the seventh inning closed it to the final two-run game.

Jeremy Adkins pitched the first three innings, while Brad Evans closed the game on the mound.

Leading hitters were Dusty McLamb 1-1, 2 RBIs; Allen Britt 1-2, 1 RBI, 1 run scored; Adam Raynor 1-2, 1 run scored, 2 walks; and Trey Daughtry 2-4.
