With four runs scored in the fourth inning alone, Midway’s junior varsity baseball team was able to get a sound victory over Rosewood, 6-1.

During the first inning, both Rosewood and Midway found themselves on the board with one run each. The Raiders’ run came when Wes Hurley stole home off a wild pitch.

While the second and third innings left the game knotted at one, Midway’s Heath Smith sacrificed a bunt to bring in Andrew Shirley for the lead.

Midway soon loaded the bases with no outs down, allowing Smith and David Pressley to be batted in off a line drive by Hurley. With runners still on third and second, another sacrifice hit by Nick Baggett brought in Hurley to give Midway a three-run lead.

Midway scored once more off Matt Phillips in the bottom of the sixth.
