“We need to play like this all the time,” commented head coach Will Hurley post game. “I am glad the girls came to play today; they looked really good and were focused. Hopefully we can continue to build on this.”
According to Hurley, the Raiders tweaked their offense and defense, which, he said, really worked.
“We scored first on a shot by Taylor Lee,” reported Hurley, adding that it was the Raiders first offensive goal of the year.
Spring Creek came back roughly 2 minutes later and knocked in a goal; however, by the half Midway had regained the lead 3-1.
“We stepped it up in the second half, played better to score six more goals,” Hurley shared.
Beyond Lee’s early goal, Farrah Jackson scored one; Autumn Norton had a hat trick plus the final goal; and Reagan Warren had a hat trick as well.
Lee also had two assists; Norton had two assists; and Monica Evans had two assists.
“We also had great play by our goalie, Maddison Wulf. She had 12 saves and four in the first half that really kept us in the game,” Hurley commented. “We also had super field by our midfielders, Anna Johnson and Lindsay Moore. Special thanks to my assistant coaches and Tori Reynolds also.”
