Another gloomy sky was the deciding factor in the cancellation of both high school and middle school action Monday.

Lakewood’s athletic director James Lewis said an unsuitable Lakewood Country Club caused the Tri-County golf match to be canceled Monday, March 29. “The golf pro said the field was just way too wet.”

As of 10:30 a.m. Monday, the game was canceled and no reschedule date was announced.

Midway’s junior varsity baseball team also will not head to North Johnston for their action. The game was canceled and no reschedule date was set as of Monday morning.

A call to the middle schools revealed that they, too, will not hit the diamond Monday afternoon.

Union and Sampson’s baseball and softball games have been rescheduled for April 22. They will play a doubleheader.

Roseboro-Salemburg and Midway’s baseball and softball contest was also canceled. They are hoping to hit the diamond Tuesday, March 30, weather permitting.
