A 22-year-old Roseboro man was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with two felony drug offenses in connection with an almost year-long undercover operation by investigators with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Division.

Joshua Westbrook, 22, of 778 Dunn Road, Roseboro, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. at his residence and charged with one count of trafficking opium/heroin and one count of conspiring to traffick opium/heroin. Westbrook was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to make his first court appearance some time today.

According to reports, Westbrook allegedly sold Percocet tablets to an undercover agent during the SID’s Operation Perk Up crackdown.

Operation Perk Up, which started in June of 2009, has led to the arrests of Lisa Mooring, Charles Long, Christopher Draughon, Antonio McKoy, Michael Vann, Alfonzo Jeffers, Justin Jackson, and Kaleef Johnson.

According to the N.C. Department of Corrections, Westbrook has no previous convictions.

Another drug selling loser from Sampson County. Justin Jackson, you're name is in the paper more times than Jarvis McLamb.

Operation Perk Up? You can just smell the irony in that name, especially when you talking about heroin. Donna Bailey HYPHEN Taylor, will this be another entry in your "Truly Sampson" broucher?

By the way, seems like our young friend Justin Jackson has his name in paper more times than Jarvis McLamb.
