By the minute 3, returning from injuries, Janay Kinlock, lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper to put LHS ahead 1-0. From there on Union went to the offensive, but the Leopards midfield slowed all their attacks. Both teams exchanged moments of danger to their goals, but the first half ended 1-0.
During the second half the Spartans put the Leopards on their heels, but the well planted Leopard defense and Ryan Wuester contained the attacks. About the minute 25 of the second half, after a corner kick, Ferris with a strong header made the score 2-0.
The player of the game recognition is shared by Kinlock, Wuester, Ferris and Paige Williams.
The 2-0 score marks the end of the Leopard ladies conference participation with a 4-9-1 record. The coaching staff and the school body is proud of these young ladies; moreover, the coach thanks the managers, the players, the school and all the fans who supported our ladies.
“We couldn’t have done it without Mr. Sandavol. He made us work very hard. We really appreciate his time, energy, leadership and patience, and we had fun,” said Paige Williams.
