In the final show, Michaels took on former Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper star Holly Robinson Peete in a task relating to creating their own brand of Snapple and seeing which one the Snapple executives liked the best. Peete created a “Compassion Berry” Tea, and Michaels created a “Tropa Roca” brand of diet Snapple. In the end, the Snapple executives thought that Michaels did a better job of marketing Snapple, and in the end, Michaels walked away with the title.
I have to admit. Peete was one great competitor. She actually raised over $300,000 for her charity, The Holly Rod Foundation, which she created to help families find care for autistic children. She was inspired to do something for other families since her own son is suffering from the side effects of the ailment.
On the other hand, Michaels was competing for the American Diabetes Association. In addition to also suffering from the disease, his daughter has also now been diagnosed with the same disease.
However while Peete did great, what makes Michaels even more of a victor this time has nothing to do with the game and more to do with his own battles. He literally has been on the brink of death in the last few weeks. Even, Peete admitted to wanting to see Michaels win.
Now, I have to say it. I am inspired by Michaels. In fact, taking my diabetes medication just doesn’t feel that bad anymore.
