A Clinton man suffered severe lacerations Saturday afternoon after a female family member allegedly stabbed him with a steak knife after he pushed her into a glass door.

The 43-year-old Clinton man reported the incident that took place at a residence on Pugh Road in Clinton around 4:25 p.m. Saturday. According to reports from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, an argument over the cable box, and what was being shown on the television, prompted the argument that turned physical. The 26-year-old woman, who is listed as the man’s step-daughter, snatched the cable box off of the television, which prompted the argument. The man, allegedly pushed the woman’s head into a glass door, which shattered the glass, and she grabbed a steak knife, which was on a nearby table, and started swinging.

After missing the first time around, subsequent swings connected, hitting the man in the head and in the back. The man also received multiple lacerations from the knife around the neck during the confrontation.

Investigators took information from both parties, however, both declined to prosecute the other. No charges have been filed by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office.

Neither party sought medical treatment.

Please, tell me this is a joke. I guess someone was really serious about watching their "Young and the Restless".
