Forgery charges leveled

A Roseboro man has been placed under a $99,600 bond after being charged with three forgery charges and served with over a dozen outstanding warrants.

Joseph Brittingham, 32, of 211 Bulldog Lane, Roseboro, was charged Monday with forgery of instrument; uttering a forged instrument; and obtaining property by false pretenses from warrants issued by the Newton Grove Police Department dating back to April.

Brittingham was also served with 12 additional outstanding warrants ranging from larcenies to forgeries. He was taken to the Sampson County Magistrate’s Office where he was placed under a $99,600 secured bond and given a trial date of July 9.

According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections, Brittingham has no previous convictions.
