A routine traffic stop has led to the arrest of a 30-year-old Autryville man, who is facing at least six serious charges.

Derrick Dwight Jackson, 30, of 668 Madeline Lane, Autryville, was charged with manufacturing marijuana; possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; maintaining a vehicle for the sell of a controlled substance; failure to stop at a stop sign; driving left of center and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to reports released Wednesday morning from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson was arrested after he was driving his 1994 Chevrolet Lumina erratically and ran through a stop sign near Welcome School Road in Autryville. Deputies discovered 1.9 ounces of marijuana on him and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. He was immediately taken into custody.

Jackson was placed under a $10,000 bond and given a trial date of July 9.

According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections, Jackson has no previous convictions.

I don't know what's more embarrassing to Sampson County. The Hollerin' Contest or losers like Derrick Jackson walking the streets. Pathetic.
