A Clinton man, charged in the June 27 shooting death at the Pump House Club, now must answer to 11 other charges connected to the incident.

Devante Rashawn Dixon, 22, of Clinton, who was taken into custody on June 29, was charged Monday with eight counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling and three counts of injury to real property.

Dixon, already in jail on murder and possession of a firearm by a felon charges in the Pump House Club shooting, was given an additional $10,000 bond. He is expected to appear in court Aug. 6 on those latest charges.

The Pump House Club, located behind a private residence at 710 Wilmington Road, just outside Turkey, was the scene of the shooting, which left 24-year-old Christopher Romaine Jones dead. He was struck once and reportedly died from excessive bleeding.

The new charges against Dixon were lodged because officers believe the 11 other shots that were fired that morning came from the same weapon that killed Jones.

Eight of those shots hit vehicles with people inside. All were in the parking lot of the club. Three other shots, officers note, hit homes near the club.

In addition to his recent charges, Dixon has a history of convictions dating back to 2004.

According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections, those convictions include: breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen goods, receiving stolen goods, breaking and entering vehicles and larceny (August 2004); and felony breaking and entering (December 2005).
