SCC received a total of 16 SMART Boards that occupy classrooms across campus including the Sampson Early College High School, the Nursing Program, College Transfer and multiple computer labs for additional access.
This initiative was made possible through a collaborative effort between a college tech prep grant and SCC Small Business Center funding. This effort afforded the college to contract with John Lowe, the Instructional Technology facilitator for Clinton High and Sampson Middle Schools, to conduct training for SCC faculty and staff. Miller says she is excited that Lowe, who is a SMART Certified Trainer-Notebook Software specialist, was on-hand to deliver the training. “We are extremely excited to learn all of the facets of this equipment from a highly qualified individual who is teaching our faculty new ways to enhance hands-on learning.”
The SMART Boards are easy to use, and instructors are already finding ways to incorporate them into their teaching to improve learning and increase
