The first took place on Saturday at the intersection of Rosin Hill Road and Highway 13 in Newton Grove when a 35-year-old woman and a 40-year-old male were stopped at the intersection and a truck pulled up next to them. The man in the truck, identified as a white Chevrolet pickup, allegedly pulled out a pistol and pointed it at them, while threatening to kill them.
The woman, from Hope Mills, and the man, from Fayetteville, immediately called law enforcement but the man in the truck took off before they arrived. However, the couple in the car recognized the man and were escorted to the magistrate’s office to take out warrants for his arrest. No arrests had been made as of press time.
No injuries were reported.
Shooting in Clinton
Around 5 a.m. Sunday, a man reported a shooting into his residence, located in the 200 block of Nicole Lane in Clinton.
According to the report, the man heard someone trying to open his front door early Sunday morning. Within seconds, one shot was fired, shattering the front door glass.
The man called law enforcement officials, who were on the scene within minutes, but a suspect could not be found.
Although there were no injuries in the shooting, the door, as well as a wall, where the bullet lodged into, were damaged. The estimated value was $150.
Investigators are searching for the suspect in the case and asking the public for any information that could lead them to him.
